Fresh out of Bigg Boss 3 Sherlyn Chopra seems to have become a wiser person. She narrates her vivid experiences from the reality show in her recent blog:

When I first stepped in the house of Bigg Boss, little did I know that I would be a soft target for nomination. As a person, I’m an introvert. I like to keep to myself. I know that the real me is quite contrary to my brand image. When I was nominated for the first time, I was shocked. I thought that the house inmates must have randomly picked my name without having any valid reason for my nomination.

Initially, I could not relate to the female house inmates. Mostly they would talk about their families. And I had nothing to say about my family. May be because I have been living alone since I was a teenager.

When I realized that I wasn’t getting positive vibes from the ladies of the house, I turned to the men. I made friends with Kamal & Vindoo because I found them incredibly hilarious.

During the first two weeks, I indulged in gossip. I would make mockery of the character traits of the inmates, whom I didn’t get along well with. When I was nominated for the second time, I had an emotional breakdown, as I felt rejected and misunderstood.

I had asked Poonamji to explain to me as to why the ladies in the house were judgemental toward me. She explained to me that if I mingled with them and talked to them more often, probably they would not have felt that way.

Also, Poonamji said that I would have to express my love to the house inmates to be loved by all of them. After this heart-felt conversation with Poonamji, I decided to go out of my way to love the people in the house. And so, I started treating people with kindness and gentleness.

I derive great pleasure from doing domestic work. Whenever I found the house dirty, I would start cleaning and sweeping the entire house - the kitchen area, the dining area, the living area, girls’ bedroom and even boys’ bedroom.

The people in the house began to see changes in my behaviour and attitude. I truly hoped they would change their pre- conceived notions about me. But that didn’t happen.

I was nominated again for the third time.This time, I tried to analyze harder as to where I was going wrong. I then thought that perhaps the house inmates needed some more time to understand me. I was very confident that sooner or later the house inmates would stop nominating me.

But history repeated itself. I was nominated again for the fourth time. I just could not understand what was going wrong.

Later, on the day of eviction I was told by all the participants that I was made a scapegoat. They said that they chose to nominate me continuously as they had no other option. It was after I met Amitji on Aakhri Salaam that I got to know the true reasons for my nomination.

Most of the house inmates called me a fake person. They strongly felt that the change in my behaviour and attitude was superficial and not genuine. I could not control my tears, when I realized what a poor opinion they had of me.

Now that I’m out of the house of Big Boss, I feel, I was a misfit in the house, as I didn’t want to play games with human emotions. I didn’t want to be part of conversations that break the human spirit.

The experience from day one till the end of my journey was more or less like a roller coaster ride. I got to re-discover myself. And I’m glad that I connected with my inner-self.

The icing on the cake was when Amitji restored peace between my mother and me. However, I feel unless my mother, my sister, and I analyze the root cause of the animosity and the differences between us, the patch up will be very superficial.

Neil Nitin Mukesh is the first mainstream hero to have done a scene of masturbation in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Jail.

Reliving the highly unconventional moments of on-screen realism Neil says, “Frankly if it was some other director I’d have said no. But knowing the way Madhur depicts explicit sexual scenes I said yes.

We shot the masturbation sequence with 450 other actors on the set with me. All the other inmates are asleep when I do it. Now a lot of it has been cropped off. But we still see the character doing it. There’s just a suggestion of it now.”

A portion of the sequence was voluntarily removed from the film before it was presented to the censor board.

Says Neil, “Honestly, after Madhur and I shot the masturbation sequence we found we had gone too far. It was too explicit. It was just not jelling with Indian concepts of aesthetics. So we decided to knock it off quite a bit by mutual consent. We just wondered if the flow of the narration would be hampered.”

That’s not only sexually explicit sequence Neil has participated in for Jail. “In one sequence I go in the night to the bath and see a boy performing oral sex on another. Their pleasure is interrupted by me, and the boy says, ‘You had to come and spoil the fun.’ While we agreed to remove dialogue the scene of oral sex remains.”

Neil’s colleagues say they would gladly do a nude scene for a role. Ranbir Kapoor already has in Saawariya. But auto- eroticism is going too far.

Neil explains, “My nude or masturbation scenes are not for titillation. It’s a very practical need in the script. My character is in Jail without sex for 2 and 1/2 years. What does he do? He naturally seeks pleasure by himself. In the scene that we shot my character fantasizes about his girlfriend and gets his gratification.”

Comparing the moment to the dramatic poignant and memorable sequence in Alan Parker’s 1979 prison drama Midnight Express where the young prison inmate makes his girlfriend undress from across the glass partition dividing prisoners from visitors Neil sighs, “Oh my God! That was a wonderful moment. But we couldn’t show something like this in Jail.

Even the love-making scene with Mugdha Godse has been so aesthetically shot. Like the love making scene between Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. It became an out-of-the-body experience for the audience.”

Even the censors’ blocking off Neil’s frontal nudity has been taken in the right spirit by the young actor.

“At first I was upset. I realize I am the first Indian actor to show full frontal nudity. But the scene was that of humiliation, not titillation, like the naked parade in Bandit Queen.

Even though I don’t get raped physically Jail is the first Hindi film to show the hero’s emotional rape. We’ve created all the hell inside prison. Audiences will actually see the horror behind the prison walls.”

Newbie Sherlyn Chopra, whose pictures hold the record for being some of the most downloaded in the world of internet, has taken a step ahead in being closer to her audience. She is willing to give them a chance to own a part of her. How exactly? Well, she is all set to sell off her personal belongings like lingerie, DVDs and hot images.

Wait. Before your mind starts thinking of something really naughty, let it be clarified that she is taking an entirely professional route in doing so. She has launched an online SC (Sherlyn Chopra) store on her official website and this is the place where she would be showcasing items for auction and sale.

“You have seen me, now own my stuff as well! Ever felt like being as naughty as me then this is your chance? Well, I am ready to offer all material things that I possess.

Informs a source who has been associated with Sherlyn in designing the website and arriving at the list of items that the hottie is bringing forth for her fans and followers, “The range of merchandise varies from Sherlyn’s ‘Dard’ costume - the diamond studded lingerie paired with golden shorts, a DVD consisting of some never seen before photo shoot videos of Sherlyn, clothing items for girls and ‘worth sinning for’ images and calendars for guys & girls!”

In addition, Sherlyn’s ‘Bikini Calendar 2009′ has been put for sale as well. The calendar will be available in two formats - a hard copy and an electronic version with automatic settings.

This is not all as Sherlyn’s online store also boasts of some exclusive posters, wallpapers, screensavers, autographed mug and other clothing items like tops, pants, evening wear, swimsuit, body suit amongst others.

“This is something unique in India and Sherlyn is being a trend setter yet again”, comments a marketing professional who is closely following merchandising trend in Bollywood, “In Hollywood, it’s a known concept for a celebrity to put his/her stuff on the website and market it for the common man. Meanwhile, she is happy shooting for her Shahid Kapoor starrer which is being directed by debutant director Anurag Singh. She got the film courtesy Yash Chopra who was apparently quite impressed with Sherlyn’s abilities ever since he saw her film ‘Red Swastik’.

There were rumours that actress and L’Oreal ambassador Aishwarya Rai may have held back Sonam Kapoor from walking the Cannes red carpet. But sources close to the former beauty queen say she didn’t even know that Sonam was to visit the French film festival.

“She (Aishwarya) did not even know that Sonam was going to be at Cannes because she was there for just two days (May 13-14) where her days were packed with back-to-back interactions with the international media, fashion shoots for various European fashion magazines and other business meetings besides attending all the events at the festival, ” a source close to Aishwarya told.

“Anyone can go to the Cannes Film Festival as a visitor and that is how many in the film fraternity and normal public go from across the world.”

Confusion ensued when L’Oreal issued a list of those ambassadors that were to represent the brand at the French festival and Sonam’s name was missing from it. This, despite a formal announcement made by the company officials on Sonam’s presence at the Cannes at a press conference in Mumbai on May 10.

Sonam, who was earlier set to leave for Cannes Monday and was excited to rub shoulders with Aishwarya and Hollywood A-listers like Elizabeth Banks and Eva Longoria, finally did not go for the film festival when company officials asked her to stay back.

According to media reports released thereafter, Aishwarya was not very upbeat about the fact that Sonam would share the same stage with her as the face of L’Oreal and asked company officials to deny her the opportunity of being there.

But clarifying their decision of holding back Sonam to go for Cannes, a spokesperson from L’Oreal said in a press release: “We do not want to take part in or encourage any controversy involving our spokespeople.

There were adverse reports in certain sections of media after some comments by Sonam Kapoor, which were presented out of context.

“Following this, in order to avoid further escalation, we have advised Sonam not to go to Cannes as was planned earlier, bearing in mind that there would be more interesting opportunities for future appearances in Europe for her.”

During the shooting of Tips Films Prince with Viveik Oberoi Nandana Sen sustained a serious hip injury.

Now in deep pain the Rang Rasiya actress might have to cancel film shooting in New York for urgent hip surgery. Nandana injured her hip during a fight sequence.

“These things happen during a film. Can’t be avoided. My joint has sustained a major labrium tear. Only surgery can rectify it, and the soonest possible.”

Nandana got temporary surgery done so that her schooting doesn’t get disrupted. “It was a bit complicated and very painful. Steroid was administered directly into the injury track by scanning machines. It should work for two weeks.”

Although her worried family has advised her against it, Nandana hopes to complete Prince in these two weeks before going for permanent surgery. “I don’t want the shooting to suffer. But I’m suffering. Shakira was right. Hips don’t lie.”

Mallika Sherawat will have a milk shake named after her, joining the list of Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Victoris Beckham, David Beckham and Paris Hilton!

What did you feel when you first stepped into the seductive red gown you wear in Acid Factory?
I was super excited by designers Shantanu and Nikhil’s creation. And when I looked at myself in the mirror I said ‘Wow’!

Would you wear something like that in real life?
Of course! In fact I wear a lot of seductive clothes and then all my friends exclaim ‘Oh, you are looking hot!’ It is only that the characters I have portrayed on screen were sweet and innocent, so filmmakers and people cannot imagine me as hot or sexy.

Would you like to do more films presenting you as hot and sexy?
I would like to be presented in many different ways!

How did you feel being the only girl in an all-male film?
I enjoyed all the attention my six co-stars, Aftab Shivdasani, Dino Morea, Danny Denzongpa, Fardeen Khan, Irrfan Khan and Manoj Bajpai showered on me during that 45-day schedule in Hyderabad. However, later I became one of them and then it was on a man-to-man level.

What if six men were to woo you in real life?
It’s really never happened, but it would be fun. Like any woman I would bask in all the attention.

Are you likely to woo a man?
Hmmm, I think once in a way it’s fun for a woman to chase a man. I would enjoy wooing a man, who is not paying me too much attention, because I would love to know the reason. He’ll definitely keep me on my toes.

So what traits in a man would attract you?
At first instant it would be the way he carries himself. That would be in the way he greets me, my family and in the way he treats the help in the house. But of course with time, it has to be about how bright he is, how good a conversationalist, how emotionally intelligent etcetera. The list is long indeed!

Have you met anyone like that?
I have met a lot of interesting men. But no one has managed to have an effect on me in that way for a while.

There were rumours about you being close to Sanjay Gupta and Arshad Warsi!
As long as the people concerned and my family know what the truth is, I don’t think I have to clarify rumours.

What made you take up the role of a nerd with negative shades in Jai Veeru?
Okay, so the film and I are not getting rave reviews but I don’t regret doing it. I signed it four years back during my lean phase. Things have taken off since, but it does not take away the fact that I was signed when I was fed up of people telling me that I was talented and beautiful but not offering me work.

Otherwise what attracts you to a film?
I leave it to my gut feel! My biggest high is when a filmmaker tells me that no one but I can do the film. Shoojit Sircar’s Johnny Mastana (earlier Shoebite) is special because the director told me that.

In Johnny Mastana, you are married to a UK-based businessman and in Kissan you are married to a son of the soil. In real life, would the professions matter to you?
For marriage, lot more things come into play, other than a person’s profession. Like how grounded he is, how he gets along with his and my family, how independent he is and his values.

What does marriage mean to you?
It’s a life-long journey between two individuals.

Are you a romantic person?
Yes, very. I’m very romantic for my family and all my close friends as well. I love pampering my close ones with gifts and surprises.

Is a candle-lit dinner the ultimate in romance for you?
No. The most romantic gesture I have seen is when a man notices his partner is uncomfortable in a crowded room and without uttering a word he goes across and puts his arm around her. Not a single word spoken, but everything said by that gesture.

Man Teases his ex-wife’s new husband: So, dude how was the second-hand stuff?
New husband: Not bad. After the first 3 inches, she was brand new.!!!
